Best Brew? Expensive Coffee from Around the World

Nothing beats the aroma of freshly-brewed coffee in the morning or for most individuals, any part of the day. A lot of articles warn us about the dangers of consuming too much coffee. But we can’t deny that it has benefits as well.

Many of us see coffee as our lifeline on most (if not all!) mornings and especially moreso when we come home from a gruelling day at work and waking up to another.

What could be better than having a hot cup of this heavenly drink? To enjoy one made from beans that give literal meaning to the words “black gold!”

What are the Most Expensive Coffees all Over the World?

The almost instant answer to this question is “that cat poop coffee from Indonesia.” Yes, the Kopi Luwak is quite pricey at $160 per pound but it’s not the priciest in the coffee market.

Is this Coffee Gold?

News portals recently ran a story on a cafĂ© offering coffee from what could be today’s most expensive coffee beans.

The number in Elida Geisha 803’s indicate how much it costs per pound – a whopping $803!

It bagged the top honors in a competition hailed as the Oscars for coffee, hence, the price. You have to shell out $75 for a cup. And according to coffee critics? It’s worth it.

Other coffee beans that have over $500 pricetags per pound include Black Ivory Coffee (from elephant poop), Finca El Injerto (Guatemala) and the Hacienda La Esmeralda (Panama) coffee.

Making the Best Brew

But no matter how you have the best and most expensive coffee beans at home, you won’t experience their full flavor if you don’t have a good-quality coffee grinder. Antique manual, electric, coffee mill or cast wheel, choose one that will truly bring out the best in every coffee cup and drop.

The 3 Best Ways to Celebrate Mother’s Day

Time flies fast. We’ll be celebrating this year’s Mother’s Day in a few weeks’ time. But it’s sad to see that instead of getting a much-needed break from their motherly duties on that day, many mums go crazily busy in preparation for it.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Australians were predicted to spend as much as $2 billion on Mother’s Day in 2017, with up to $200 million on flowers alone.
So, how do we simplify Mother’s Day celebration without cheapening its meaning?

Give mothers their needed break…truly!

A lot of mums I know would kill for a day off from all their obligations and responsibilities. So why not give them that, on the day motherhood is celebrated? Give them time to sit back, relax and enjoy while the rest of the family do their work for them even for just that day.

Nothing says “I love you, Mum” more than a clean home and chores that are done without being asked.

Do something that she loves.

Mother’s Day gifts need not be expensive. If your wife or mother’s domain is the kitchen, get her stuff that will make kitchen responsibilities like cooking easier to do. If she loves books, get her one and allow her a day off from doing housework so she could read it.

Want to take it up a notch? Surprise her by transforming your kitchen with our cutting edge tools and homeware!

Exhibit your love through words.

Have you ever told your mum/wife “I love you”? If you haven’t, now is the time to do so. Get creative with your greetings.

And words should go hand-in-hand with gestures. A simple hug and declaration of love from you can fill a mother’s heart to the brim with joy.
We don’t have to spend a lot when celebrating certain events. For Mother’s Day, just make sure to remember these three Rs: Remember your mothers/wives, Relieve them from their duties and Reassure them.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely mums out there!
